No Man is an Island.
I’m always impressed by the diversity of humans, as shown in pictures and films, and of course in real life. They show how this being we call human has made its way over thousands of years, despite all odds. Artfully designed works show us the beauty of different representatives of this kind and how they’ve developed culturally. This is clear from all sorts of examples, like clothing, hairstyles, and jewelry. No matter where you go in the world, you’ll find amazing diversity. We should appreciate this and not let fear of the strange get in the way. Don’t we also want our uniqueness to be appreciated? Sometimes free expression is suppressed, and this doesn’t lead to good things. That doesn’t have to be the case. We can bring about the opposite by showing interest and admiration.
A hymn for freedom.
I’ve selected three websites that illustrate diversity with some intense pictures and stories from all over the world. From our planet, with people about people. There’re always artists who can capture short moments in a unique way. It’s people like me who then sit somewhere at home at a computer and are frequently struck by an input. We all have different tastes and thus choose our favorites. That’s, I think, okay and simply human. Let us just respect the right for different ways of expression.

The ONE
In my depths
There is a longing for belonging
To the one force
That compels me and you
That navigates us throughout life
Deep is its seeking
For a fleshy and spiritual experience
Drawn to contradictions
Looking for its insight
Deep is my fear of not belonging
Lost to the longing that persists
During the journey
We call life
From the known to the unknown
From beginning to end
We belong together
I simply know
We are ONE
